Salary/Promotion Salary Calculator

Promotion Salary Calculator

Your fitment on promotion — protected to at least one increment above your pre-promotion pay, now accounting for JAIIB/CAIIB on both sides of the promotion.

Pending Verification
One honest caveat before you use this: the underlying rule — minimum one-increment protection on promotion — is quoted directly from the settlement. The exact arithmetic used to find your new stage is standard banking fitment methodology, not independently checked against an official worked example. Treat the result as a strong estimate, not a confirmed figure — verify against your actual promotion order.

What this calculates

Your new Basic Pay and Gross Salary after a promotion to a higher scale, applying the settlement’s minimum one-increment protection — now also accounting for JAIIB/CAIIB bonus stages before promotion, and Stagnation Increments/PQP if your promotion fitment lands at the top of your new scale.

Formula

Your pre-promotion effective stage includes any JAIIB/CAIIB bonus stages already earned. If you were already at the top of your old scale, “one increment” uses that scale’s first Stagnation Increment amount instead of a next-stage lookup (since there is no next base stage). Notional pay = old effective Basic Pay + one increment. New stage = the lowest stage in the promoted scale at or above that — if that’s the new scale’s maximum, Stagnation Increments and PQP apply there too.

Worked example

Scale I, Stage 5, no qualification, promoted to Scale II: one increment = ₹2,000, notional pay = ₹58,480. Scale II’s Stage 1 (₹64,820) already exceeds that, so fitment lands there. Gross Salary rises from ₹98,319 to ₹1,13,800.

FAQs

What if I was already at the top of my old scale before promotion?

The calculator uses your old scale’s first Stagnation Increment amount as the “one increment” protection instead of a next-stage lookup, since there’s no next base stage once you’re at the top. This is a disclosed simplification — it doesn’t account for exactly how many stagnation increments you’d already drawn.

Why is this marked 'Pending Verification' instead of 'Verified'?

The rule itself (minimum one-increment protection) is directly quoted from the settlement. The exact fitment arithmetic implementing it — including how it interacts with JAIIB/CAIIB bonus stages and top-of-scale cases — is this platform’s interpretation, not something checked against an official worked example.
