What this calculates

The Gross Salary impact of your next increment. If you’re not yet at the top of your scale, that’s your next tenure stage. If you are, it’s one more year of Stagnation Increment and/or Professional Qualification Pay accrual — both of which depend on your JAIIB/CAIIB status.

Formula

Not at top: next stage Basic Pay is read directly from the scale’s revised pay progression. At top: Stagnation Increments accrue every 2 years (scale-specific amounts), and PQP is added at 1/2/3 years after reaching top depending on qualification — both flow into DA-pay and HRA-pay per the settlement’s Pay definitions.

Worked example

Scale I, Stage 5, no qualification: Gross Salary rises from ₹98,319 to ₹1,01,682 at the next stage — a monthly increase of ₹3,363.

FAQs

Why isn't DA recalculated for the increment?

DA depends on quarterly CPI, not your Basic Pay stage — moving up a stage does change the rupee amount of DA (a percentage of Basic-inclusive Pay), which this calculator accounts for, but the DA rate itself stays at the current published figure.

What if a year passes with no Stagnation Increment or PQP change?

Then the “next increment” shows no change in Basic Pay — Stagnation Increments only land every 2 years, and PQP tiers are 1 year apart, so not every year brings a raise once you’re at the top of your scale.
