What this calculates

Your Gross Salary today, using the most recently published quarterly-average CPI — and, optionally, what a hypothetical future CPI value would do to your DA, Gross Salary, and monthly/annual take-home increase. The current figures use the actual published rate; the projected figures use whatever CPI you enter, clearly marked so you never mistake a guess for a published fact.

Formula

DA = 1.00% of DA-eligible pay per point the quarterly average CPI-IW sits above 123.03. Gross Salary = Basic Pay + DA + HRA + CCA + Special Allowance + Learning Allowance. This simplified version omits Stagnation Increments, Professional Qualification Pay, and Officiating Pay — components that depend on individual career circumstances this calculator doesn’t collect yet, which is why the Gross Salary figure is marked “estimated” rather than fully verified.

Worked example

Scale I officer, Basic Pay ₹48,480, Area A, CCA Tier 1: at the current published CPI (148.03), Gross Salary is ₹84,869. If a future quarter’s CPI comes in at 150.00 (a projection, not a published rate), Gross Salary would rise to ₹86,094 — a monthly increase of ₹1,225, or ₹14,700 annually.

FAQs

Why isn't my exact in-hand salary shown?

In-hand salary depends on your personal income tax (which varies by regime, other deductions, and other income), professional tax, and any loan EMIs — none of which this calculator knows about. The figure shown deducts only Provident Fund contribution as a rough estimate. Use the Income Tax Calculator alongside this one for a fuller picture.

Where does the current CPI value come from?

The latest confirmed quarterly DA rate — shown automatically, not something you need to look up yourself.

Disclaimer: The Gross Salary figure omits Stagnation Increments, PQP, and Officiating Pay, which apply to some employees depending on career stage and qualifications — treat it as a close estimate, not an exact payslip match.
